WHAT PEOPLE SAY!
Some of these wins are lengthy, but they are worth it.

Al,
So far, I've gotten the Aikido, Tai Chi, and Master Instructor courses.  I am AMAZED at how you cut through the unnecessary complexities of these arts.  I have never seen anyone explain so simply the real "secrets" of these arts and skills (and I am 39 yrs old and have been a martial "hobbyist" since age 14).  I thank you, sincerely, for offering this information to us out here.

...this course opened my eyes to new things and reinforced ideas I had about old things.
David Hayes

Mr. Case,
Thank you for all you have shared with the Master Instructor Course!

I wanted to e-mail you and let you know how greatly helpful the Master Instructor course was for me.  I am a new Sensei and the teaching tools you gave me will go a long way in teaching my students.
My background includes a  lifetime of studying Martial Arts and self-defense, including Tae Kwan do, Jujitsu, and self defense courses.  Thanks again for the wonderful course, I can not wait to check out your Akido program.
Sensei Frank Cole

When I watch the forms now I understand.  When I do the forms they have more meaning.  I immediately see the flow and the force.  I, also, see how the particular arts which I have studied have been mixed with other arts.  I also see the lack of understanding in students who just see and do and have no understanding.  I can see why so many are bored to death and leave the martial arts.

Through the Master Instructors course I feel that I can now impart my knowledge of martial arts and self defence (one and the same?) in a manner that encourages effortless learning and effortless techniques.

 AL:
This is Sensei Phil Porter of the USMAA (at age 86), promoting me to 6th Dan (Rokudan) on July 3, 2010.  I was hesitant to accept the promotion, but it came shortly after you promoted me to master instructor, so I figured it was a cosmic coincidence.  Your concepts helped me understand things I needed to understand to reach this level in Karate-Do.
"Rocket" Robin Boss, RN

I am writing to share one of many wins as a result of the Master Instructor Course. When I received the DVDs a few months back I watched them four or five times and read the manual several times as well. I am currently a student of Tai Chi, Hapkido, Jeet Kune Do and Kali/Eskrima. My level of study and retention have increased significantly, and I have been asked by my various instructors to assist during classes and training sessions. Several of the people I study with have asked me to train with them separately, or look forward to partnering with me in class as they figure that they can learn something from. It is very flattering when they tell me this, but it is also very humbling. There is great responsibility in working with someone else, and I take that to heart. I hate the monkey-see, monkey-do attitude of teaching, and work hard to avoid that, instead I use the principles that you have outlined in the course.
A couple of the guys have started coming over to my house where we train in my garage. Tai Chi is very new to me (although I have your two DVD sets, I have been doing it in a class for only a couple of months) and my instructor continually pairs me up with newer and advanced students alike as she can see that I understand when she is teaching and am able to teach it to others. My fellow students like to pair up with me during sparring because I will stop and explain certain evasive techniques, proper kick placement, CBM, and more.
They tell me that they learn from me.
Thanks Al. Your work is phenomenal, and I so look forward to my daily dose of matrixing.
Alex Rodriguez

I already volunteer time at the Chinese Kung Fu Wu Su association. Teaching somewhere else presents new challenges. It is also a chance for me to make money with one of my life passions. And is what I think about day in and day out. Thank you again for The 5 army Tai Chi Chuan and the Master Instructor Coarse, which has helped me get to where I am now.
Sincerely, Luis Bonnet

Al,
I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for the knowledge I received from your Master Instructor Course. I have never before had techniques explained to me in such an in depth, but simplistic way.
My journey in the martial arts began when I was a teenager in the 1980’s. I started as a student of Kang Duk Won Karate. When I turned eighteen, I joined the army and had the opportunity to travel and see the world. I was exposed to several different types of martial arts to include: military combatives, Chinese Boxing, Shaolin Wushu, and Tae Kwon Do. I was never able to progress in an art as far as I wanted to because my job as a soldier kept me moving around. Although my journey has been an “on again, off again” one, I have not given up. I am now a police officer and have continued my studies in the art of Hapkido. Part of my job is to teach law enforcement defensive tactics. I also teach a women’s self defense class.
Your course has opened my eyes and given me ideas on how I can improve the way I am currently teaching...
James J. Morrell

Studying your Master Instructor coarse has taught me so much that I almost do not know where to begin. It has helped me to realize any shortcomings in my teaching methods. The course has given me a greater appreciation for my instructors and Masters.

I have three black belts in different arts which have now been re-opened with a whole new understanding of them. Your master instructor course was a wealth of info and not just on instructing but it was great for adjusting my own movements and fine tuning. And to think I spent almost 8 years to get a black belt in Pai Lum kung-fu when it could have been done in a year or so.

Before I started this course, I would have difficulty explaining concepts and applications to my students. This was simply due to my not truly FULLY knowing everything about a technique! Oh I knew what a technique was for and why one did it, but I knew little on the specifics of how it worked.
During the course, I began recalling martial arts that I have not studied since I was a kid. Not only that, but when I corrected them they were even more effective then ever before. I began to see where people were going to be… WILD.
After I finished the course...I’ve been teaching for several months at the Hsu-Duggan Martial Arts Academy, and all of our students have been making great progress! I am proud to say that I am now administering your Master Instructor course to four other potential instructors at the moment and have been awarded my 4th Degree Black Belt by Harry Hsu. Thank you Al!

Sir, A few weeks ago I received the Master Instructor Course and dove right in. I spent several hours every day reviewing both the print and video. I took lots of notes and would slowly try to work this information into classes with my students. All of my students noticed something different. I asked them to elaborate and for the most part they all said that they felt a renewed effort in me and them. A few made statements like, "I get it now".
In order to explain this better let me tell you something about me. I am fifty years old, been learning martial arts since the mid seventies starting with three years of Aikido. I have been a Sheriff's Officer in New Jersey for the past twenty years and a police officer for five years before that. I have worked in my agency’s forensics unit, warrant squad and I am now a Sergeant in our Protective services Division  where I have been since 2001. I am also on our SERT (SWAT) team as a SWAT Grenadier and entry team member. I am A Less Then Lethal weapons Inst. (OC SPecialty Impact, and Baton) Instructor. I am also a Defensive Tactics Instructor. I am tasked with training over one hundred sworn officers. Every year I conduct several training weeks where street survival, defensive tactics and simulated fire fights using Simunition ammo,( as close to a real gun fight as I can get  my guys and dolls without actually shooting them).
Martial arts background is Aikido 1st Dan, Isshyn Rue 1st Dan, A variant of Kempo (no forms just self defense techniques) 3rd Dan. My two passions are Wing Chun and Yang Tai Chi
having started both in 1992.
My wife and I are half owners of a Kickboxing Gym where I train private students.
I am telling you all this to set the foundation for the following statement, I have been wasting a lot of time!... What I was missing was a truly scientific logical format that broke down my favorite arts and made the learning process natural. You have done this for me in the form of Matrixing.
I showed my students the short blocking matrix and asked them to fit Wing Chun blocks which you know are different from Karate (Bong sau, tuan sao etc.) and they were able to do this quickly and it made sense. I am so convinced of matrixing that I have applied it to teaching all subjects to my Sheriff's Officers and they have commented that my teaching has gotten, "better, more fun, more efficient".
What really hooked me was the Instant Aikido Program. In 1974 I started three years of Aikido and reached first Dan Rank. I have forgotten more than I remember. When I went through you Aikido Discs., it all came back to me but in a new and exciting light. At the risk of sounding like a big old philosophical slob, I felt lighter as I practiced with my son. My senses seamed to be more acute and I could not stop smiling. It made so much sense and my son who had no Aikido training was awesome like he was an old pro.
In closing, Matrixing has made a positive effect in how I teach both students and Cops. I am sold. I have ripped through the Aikido and Matrix Karate courses and plan to order more including Monkey Kung Fu, Pa Kua and Five Army Tai Chi. Thank you for doing all the work and research that we all should have been doing.
Respectfully, Kurt A. Nelle'

In the last ten years, I have been involved in Tai chi, Baqua zhang, and Brazilian JuJitsu.  Every thing in these concepts are so much simpler when you understand flow and force.  In monkey boxing when you understand the idea of every joint leads to a throw or a lock, being a wrestler, I see it everywhere.

I have learned many lessons from many Masters in the last
four decades. I will say again I learned the most from you and that was more then all the rest combined. I spent years with various oriental Master Instructor Types, they were good at what they did and not to take anything from them, they simply did not have what
you do. In the words of Bruce Lee No superior arts only superior practitioners. Once again you are the Superior Practitioner, Instructor, Master Founder. I would further say in my forty year quest for martial arts truth I found the most truth from and through you and your teachings. So I say to anyone in doubt check it out you won't be sorry you did.Sincere Thanks Again, Charles Cashmere MD,PhD., Founder Chung Moo Kwan System

Master Case,
...let me say that I received the master instructor certificate you sent me. I framed and mounted it and I am deeply honored. I still don't feel I've put the time in and stare down the long path before me and I know there is so far yet for me to go. At the same time I can not deny the power of the knowledge you have given me. I don't even know how much I know yet.

I go from the handshake to a thumb lock and used the thumb to move him into a wrist lock which I in turn used to let his body know he should drop to his knees immediately. That all happened in about half a second. With a small adjustment I altered the grip to help him up and told him that I wasn't kidding about monstermartialarts.com. I invented that sequences of moves on the fly just by utilizing what I learned in the master instructor course and I told him as much.

Dear Al,
I received the Master Instructor's Certificate in Saturday's mail.  Thanks for your personal reply to my email and thanks for your quick response to my request.  It is much appreciated.
Wishing you all the best! - Bill Tharp

Master Case,
As a student of the arts for the last 17 years, I did find your Master Instructor Course most enlightening. Your thoughts on the yin yang theory are marvelous, giving much food for thought. In past instruction I was taught (about) power, however, I do find your explanation to far surpass in depth and substance, previous teachings I have received. My life and lineage have an added degree of harmony now.
Having studied grappling, shaolin and boxing, the matrix system by and large can be heralded as a great teaching instrument. In particular, the ten hand positions, along with the stance exercises are worth their weight in gold.
As I practice and continue to practice, I can indeed feel my body’s natural mechanisms transforming into your brand of the True Art. This I found to be amazing!
Having utilized my prior training in legitimate manner, I was astounded by the comfort of transitional incorporation of your teachings into my repertoire of Splash Hands, Wing Chun, JKD (hybrid). It was great. Thank you so much.
This has been great and awesome.

...this other black belt got in my shit because I wasn't doing it, "the way it's SUPPOSED to be." And he was angry. And he didn't help me understand. You help me understand. I started studying the Master Instructor training manual. Before I had just looked at the dvd, but wow! I'm getting more reality on what I started to understand as a child, but hadn't the courage to act on it: Earth is full of humans who have no control. People just react, without understanding, without logic. And those pictures in my head that tell me I'm not enough; they're mostly empty space!

Dear sifu Case,
I just finished the Master Instructor course and am quite impressed to say the least.
By breaking down each level of the course so plainly, it makes the "arts" much more understandable and certainly less "mystical". The mystical part was always a feeling I thought only my teachers could have. I tended to teach as I was taught and now I can teach with more of an open mind.
I think  the "wins" here  would be self realization, martial understanding, re-thinking the needs of the student and how to convey the knowledge learned here,  and a total  (different & relaxed)  mind set of how to approach any martial art in the future.
Thank you for such knowledge and I look forward to training correctly from this point on and also look forward to your other programs.  If they are as exciting as the Master Instructors course we will ALL be the most awesome instructors and martial artists on the planet.
Gary Castleberry

Dear Sensei Al,
Thank you so much for including me in your list of Master Instructors. It is and honor to be associated with you. I have always enjoyed your articles very much, you have an entertaining way of getting your points across. I have been taught by many instructors, my first instructor of karate was a black belt under Gogen Yamaguchi, tough guy, tough style,
but the teaching style included none or very little verbal instruction. We just mimicked the instructor. I would stay at a school for a length of time, then move on to another, not really feeling that I was learning much. Later I found that it wasn't really the style I was involved in, it was the learning process. Actually as students were sort of scared of
the instructors because we were not allowed to ask for an explanation of why we were doing something in a particular way and could be reprimanded
if we spoke out. Just stance and repetitions with no verbal theory. I find that interesting because as an instructor myself I want my students
to ask questions, I want them to be sure that they understand the application or concept of what I am trying to impart.
The Master Instructor course gives students who learned the way that I did to gain insight into why they are doing what they do. Such an excellent course, I would recommend it as a part of mandatory training for instructors of any style, especially the karate based styles.
Sensei Al, if the above sounds like an endorsement, well I guess it is.
I highly recommend the Master Instructor course. An thank you for including me in your list of instructors.
Sincerely,
Steve Takamoto

I have a background in
Karate, Jiu Jitsu along with some other stuff and have been teaching for over 25 years and I have to say that a lot of  the stuff you talk about in the Master Instructor course are not taught by many, maybe along the lines of someone in the lineage may have been aware of some of the contents but have been lost somewhere along the lines.

I have tons of diplomas that are in a drawer somewhere all scrunched up, never been much for pieces of paper but your materials mean something and I would be proud to have a certificate with your name on it for the
wall...yours I will hang up.

Thanks again for offering such great and inspirational  instruction for all of us who have trained in the martial arts for many years and seek new paths to go on for further development for ourselves AND more importantly for our students. I havent been this excited about a martial arts program in years. THANKS again!!!!

To Master Al Case
My Personal Win(s)
Having studied and practiced in the martial arts since I was 5 years old, it wasn’t until studying your “Master Instructor” course that a lot of what I did (in the present and in the past) “hit me.”

From what I can see, the Master Instructor Course provides information, not just for the martial arts, but for all aspects of life. It could be while teaching a college course, driving a car, shopping at a grocery store, and so forth…
I want to thank you for providing this course (at such a low cost) where we that have taken it can now help others be more in their lives.
Your Student,
Bob Choat

After becoming a Master Instructor and after spending numerous years as a monkey see monkey do karateka, I sincerely feel that I am ready to become a Martial Artist

Al Case has developed a system that actually analyses all possible motions of the body from every angle in any combat situation without any superfluous extras. I’ve also discovered through the course many concepts which I had never considered before...

I have over 300 pages of wins, and what you have read is only a sample. I look forward to reading your win here someday.

MASTER INSTRUCTOR COURSE!

We are not a 'paper mill,'

churning out diplomas for dollars.

At Monster Martial Arts we have isolated the exact data necessary to become a Master Instructor.

    No, not 'boot camp'conditioning.

    No, not 'secret techniques.'

Just.. the underlying principles of all arts!

    Read that again,

the underlying principles of all arts.

The extra good news is that we have put this data into a series of courses. And here is the killer.. not only is the course inexpensive, but it is short! You can become a certified Master Instructor in an incredibly short time. How short? That's up to you. You are already trained as a martial artist,  now you just need the data on how to teach.

No long drills, no long courses to drown you in talk, talk, talk,  just the straight goods on how to get what you know into the head of your student. Man, what could be sweeter?

In fact, we have had people finish this course in just days! And they knew more... MUCH MORE... than the fellow down the street.

The reason?  This course deals in knowledge, in information,  in understanding the exact reasons behind anything you might do in the martial arts.

As simple as the information in this course is,  it has never been put down, in one lump sum,  in any text or course, in the history of this planet.

Now, to introduce you to this course, let me ask you three questions.

FIRST QUESTION:

ARE YOU THE VICTIM

OF AN AIRPLANE BLACK BELT?

In the 1960s people would get off the plane as Black Belts.  What is interesting is that they got on the plane as Green Belts. If that. And we are paying the price for this glut of unqualified Instructors.

To be honest, even if these people had taken any kind of Instructor's Course,  (let alone a Master Instructor's course)  the chances are that it was just a 'toughening up' kind of boot camp,  and they didn't really learn anything that would help them become instructors.

School teachers, after all, go through extensive courses to become teachers.  Did your instructor? Does he know the precise technology of teaching?  Did he actually take the time to tell you why you do what you do when you teach?

Now, be honest, and ask yourself the question... have you ever studied the exact technology of teaching? Well, no one else has, either. But this course remedies that.  When you are done with this course you will know more than any instructor anywhere!

Quite a claim, eh? But we are safe in making it because instructor courses,  when they do exist at all,  do not teach how to teach! So, do you want to learn how to teach?  To really learn how to teach?  If you do, this course is the only course in the world that will teach you how.

SECOND QUESTION:

HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT YOUR ART IS REALLY EVEN RIGHT?

How many times have you heard people say, 'My art is best?' Well, the truth of the matter is that people invest time and money and effort and so on,

and they must believe that their art is best.

It is just the nature of the human beast. Well, did you expect somebody to study something and say,  'Oh, no, my art is just second rate.' This inbred ability to hold what they are doing up as the best blinds people.  It makes them accept inferior goods as superior. But here are some sad facts resulting from this frame of blind.

1) Inability to recognize superior technique.

2) Holding to 'mysticism' to explain their inability.

3) Invalidating others arts as a matter of course.

  1. 4) Being stuck in a 'non-learning' frame of mind.

  2. And so on.

And until a person gets over his blindness,  he will merely contribute to the silliness,  and slow the spread of the True Art upon this planet.

Okay, so what are we going to do about this? Well, in the Master Instructor Course you get the exact information on how to have perfect form.  And you get it in such a way that you will automatically correct your form to the true.  Simply, if you have the correct data you will automatically correct your form.  Not hard at all.

THIRD QUESTION:

ARE YOU THE VICTIM OF MASTERS

WHO WON'T TEACH YOU THE REAL SECRETS?

You've heard the stories, the Master holds his final secrets back.  Makes sure his students are moral and righteous, and so on. Well, the truth of the matter is that studying the art makes people moral and righteous,  and a 'Master' whose art doesn't do this hasn't mastered a real art. Read that one again, it's the truth. But the problem is deeper than some silly 'Master' who holds out on his students.  The truth is that the Martial Arts have been watered down,  diluted, and degraded, for far simpler reasons.  The truth is that the art you are studying had to go through cultural transitions,  linguistic difficulties, and so on.  You can ascertain the truth of this for yourself  by reading a couple of the articles in the articles section.  But instead of sending you off to read articles,  let me give you an example.  And this example is one heck of a doozy!

EXAMPLE

Gichin Funakoshi taught Karate  to masses of school children.  Thus, he watered down the concepts for simple minds,  and so that he could reach a large number of these simple minds.

Then, Mr. Funakoshi taught Japanese royalty.  In this, he watered down the techniques so that there would be no cultural misunderstandings.

Then, Mr. Funakoshi taught American servicemen.  You got it, large masses of foreigners who didn't speak any common language.

So, you think I am diss-ing Mr. Funakoshi.  Well, get ready. The truth of the matter is that Mr. Funakoshi did not invent Karate.  He was passing down what was taught to him. And here is where the real story starts.

THE REAL STORY

Karate was probably invented  (the pieces gathered together out of various arts and experiences)  by Sokon Matsumura.  Matsumura was in charge of the Imperial Bodyguards on Okinawa,  and was trained extensively,  over the course of his lifetime,  in the Martial Arts.

In a country deprived of weapons,  charged with protecting the King,  Matsumura was unbounded in his seeking of martial knowledge. Eventually, the teachings were passed down to Gichin Funakoshi,  but it is doubtful whether Funakoshi received the True Art,  or, if he did, did pass it on.

Consider, when Funakoshi was learning the martial arts  the King of Okinawa was a prisoner in Japan.  There was no more need for bodyguards,  and there was no more need  for the secret techniques  that would enable the unarmed islanders  to protect their King.  Thus, somewhere in the generations immediately following Matsumura  the art was degraded and made palatable for little Johnny,  and if he breaks somebody's leg for trying to steal his lunch money  the whole martial arts program would be in jeopardy. And, when Funakoshi did teach people other than Okinawans,  he most likely held data back because,  dogonnit,  the King might be released someday,  and then they might need those secret techniques!

No. I don't think Funakoshi was a racist,  quite the opposite.  But I do think that he might have been serious in his position  as a potential bodyguard for the King of his beloved Okinawa. Okay, I am almost done,  but to cement the deal  I want you to look at the following technique.  It is from Pinan Five,  which is classical Okinawan Karate as taught by Funakoshi.

Okay, you've seen the technique.  This is the one I was taught,  and I have seen it in virtually every version of Karate.  However, as good as this technique is,  it is NOT THE REAL TECHNIQUE. Ask yourself this question,  why would an Imperial bodyguard,  in a room full of Samurai,  expect a Samurai to punch him?  Samurais had swords, dammit!  They didn't punch people,  they drew their swords and cut their enemies down!

The real technique,  as developed by a fellow who had no weapons,  but was standing in a room full of Samurai  and charged with protecting his King,  which fellow had no doubt studied dis-arming techniques,  specifically for Samurai,  was to push on the arm drawing the sword,  crushing it against the body and unbalancing the warrior,  and then drawing the sword himself!

Go ahead,  examine the technique again,  considering the type of block alone,  should convince you that the technique I have shown you,  while adequate, is not the real technique!

Okay, I have made my case.  You are the victim of not only 'Airplane Black Belts,'  but of bad linguistics, cultural misunderstandings,  and overprotective Imperial Bodyguards. None of which has been done to you intentionally. But it has been done to you, nevertheless,  and the question is... what are you going to do about it?

When I found myself in the position that you are finding yourself in right now,  I decided to do something about it.  I decided to learn the truth of the Art.  I decided that there would be no secrets held from me,  either intentionally, or unintentionally. And I am offering you,  in this course,  the same chance to overcome the 'secrets,'  to rise above petty and inadequate (no matter how well meaning) instruction.

I am offering the actual truths of the martial arts-- not Monkey see-Monkey do, same old, same old-- but the underlying principles that make things work!

Here is a list of just some of the things you will be getting  when you enroll on the Master Instructor's Course:
