Hey,
did you know there is a learning curve to the martial arts?
Of course there is.
There is a learning curve to everything.
And the curve can be sharp,
low and slow,
wiggly waggly here and there.
But here are two things that your mommy never told you, and a different way of looking at the learning curve inherent in mankind.

One,
most people don’t want to learn.
They know there is a curve,
but they don’t want to apply it to themselves.
They are satisfied
accepting what some so-called authority tells them,
and they never look at what they are really doing.
They work out and don’t think.
Mindless exercise.

Two,
and this somewhat extrapolates on the first point,
and shows what the scale of learning in the martial arts actually look like.

At the bottom we have the people who want to fight.
They just like the freestyle,
the reality,
they are often quite vocal
always backing up opinion with the offer
to prove what they say with their fists.

Near the bottom we have the physical cultists.
They work out to get a good body,
maybe impress people.
No thought of what the martial arts does for mind/spirit

In the middle we get most people.
They talk about chi,
and research what has gone before,
but they don’t look into the future,
they are not scientific about what they do.

Above the middle we get dedicated artists.
These are people who sense what is going on,
and are pushing themselves forward,
and making inroads as to what
the martial arts are really all about.

At the top you get the matrixed martial artists.
These are people who realize
that there is a truth behind the martial arts,
And that there is a scientific way of getting to that truth.

To sum up this learning curve
and the people embedded in it…

domination
image and symbolism
pseudo intelligent but bad data
dedicated artists attempting to rise above
logic and science as a method

Now,
that all said,
here are a few examples.

At the bottom are the people who want to dominate.
Who inhabit chat rooms only to put down,
who insist that arguments can only solved
by fighting.

Above the bottom
are the idiots who listen to the dominators
and actually believe them.
These guys are mindless drones,
wanna be dominators,
on their way down,
but not there yet.

In the middle are people,
people like you and me,
but with one large problem.
Their data is wrong.
No matter how hard they work out,
they are cursed.
Simply,
they accept methods that,
even if efficient,
are so couched in ancient terms
that they are near useless.
They learn Japanese
because you can’t understand Karate unless you speak Japanese.
They meditate
without any idea of what meditation is.
They are firmly ensnared by the classical,
and have never picked up a dictionary,
or done anything to translate the mass they are stuck in.

Above the middle are people
who have felt the energy,
who are exploring concepts,
who are trying to resolve the mass of unordered data
that is the martial arts.
I can’t tell you how many of these people have written me,
are aware that matrixing has given them the final order,
has propelled them,
has uplifted them.

At the top we have you,
the matrixer.
The fellow who has seen the order of the martial arts,
has experienced the logic,
who has started to speed up,
has seen the sure and steady path
into the real ability of the martial arts.

So,
where you?
I know not only do matrixes read my stuff,
but sometimes others,
low and almost low,
sometimes looking and sometimes not,
read things i’ve written.
So where are you?

Are you stuck on the downward path?
Trying to dominate others?
Or are you on the upward path,
finding the real education in the martial arts,
opening up your abilities
as quickly as you can?

Here’s the most important link a martial artist can ever find.

Planning a New Monkeyland for Martial Arts!

Newsletter 831

Monkeyland Plans!

Good morning!
Another fine day,
perfect for a workout!

Let’s talk about Monkeyland.

martial arts system

A complete Martial Arts System! ~ Click on the cover!

For those of you new to the newsletter,
Monkeyland is the name of the place
where I set up a retreat
where people lived and practiced martial arts.
Free from the distraction of the world.
A western version of Shaolin,
in a manner of speaking.

About three years ago
I moved to a mountaintop
just outside Santa Maria.
I lived there for a little over a year.

There were a lot of problems.
One was that there was no internet connection.
No electricity.
The well went dry a couple of times.
And so on and so on.

And,
there were a lot of solutions.
Fixed the well,
set up a solar panel installation to power things,
and lots of other stuff.

And weird stuff happened.
One was that I made extra money
by running a crematorium for animals.
That’s right,
the little furries reached the end of their lives,
and it was up to me to dispose of the carcasses.
It actually wasn’t bad,
Dead things don’t gross me out,
I actually said a little prayer for the guys,
and sent them off to the next body,
or whatever,
with a heartfelt prayer.

The only thing that bothered me was
they smell like hamburger.
Now that was gross.
Made me wonder what I’ll smell like
when this body gets cremated.

And,
I worked out as much as I could.
But,
I had a severely injured shoulder.
Was on vicodin for a few years,
pain,
on a scale of 1-10,
was an 11.

So I got an operation,
and was immediately off vicoden.
The docs were worried I would be addicted.
Not a chance.
I have the martial arts on my side.

Eventually
the owner of the property and I had a falling out.
A neighbor ran over his dog
and he blamed me.
Didn’t matter that i told him not to encourage
the dogs to chase trucks,
it was my fault.

So,
we left.
Closed up shop and moved back
to the big city.

Broke.
Homeless.
No work.
I was back.

So the last year or so
I have been recovering.
From operation,
from financial straights,
and so on.

And,
all I can think about
is getting back to Monkeyland.

Where can I go
that I won’t run into psychotic landlords,
where I can do martial arts,
and teach all the things I’ve learned.
Where?

Well,
I want to either end up in
Monterey county,
just below Santa Cruz.
Beautiful land.
Got to be a few acres sitting out there,
off grid,
where idiots don’t abound.

Or,
I wouldn’t mind Idylewild,
which is just above Palm Springs.
Not as lush,
but quite beautiful.

Tai Chi is just one of the arts to be taught at Monkeyland!

Here’s the thing,
it’s not just teaching the martial arts.
Shaolin,
believe it or don’t,
is not just about teaching martial arts.
People live there.
They grow veggies and cook.
They help the community.
They do lots of stuff
that most people don’t think of.

So the point here is
how can Monkeyland become self sufficient.

One way is pushing the books and videos I’ve done.
I’ve barely scratched the surface,
there are so many people out there
that think I’m just scamming,
have never read a book,
or looked at a video.

What I want to do is…

teach the martial arts
set up solar panels which create our source of energy, and even tap into air wells.
Build a small community, using such things as cargo containers, so that people can live.
Garden.
Recover land using certain modern irrigation methods.
Animals.
And so on.

And,
how am I going to do this?
Well,
I need to push the books and videos
so that people understand
there are actual martial arts in existence.
Not tournament stuff,
not just reality.
But martial arts that grow the human being,
and create abilities that are thought of only in legend.

And,
I will probably look for grants.
See if I can find somebody,
some corporation,
which is willing to back such a venture.

And there will be.
Recovering the land?
Delving into modern technologies
for such things as water and energy,
there are going to be corporations who want to grant.

But,
first,
I have a year or two of catching up on book writing,
making sure that all methods are sharp and ready to go,
and,
I have to write complete plans.
I have to have a massive and detailed cost estimate,
and in that estimate
will be plans
for how Monkeyland will support itself.

You can’t live off people,
you need to support yourself.
And i know that there are a lot of martial artists
who would like to spend a few weeks in Martial Arts paradise,
or even a lifetime.

So that’s the skinny on Monkeyland.
Now you know what happened,
and what can be done about it.

Incidentally,
I know there are a few readers out there.
Maybe even reading this newsletter,
so if you want to know where the concept
for Monkeyland came from,
order the book…

https://www.amazon.com/Monkeyland-Book-1-Al-Case-ebook/dp/B00DUJDEB0

It’s a series,
starts off with race wars,
and then goes crazy.
The whole series covers the enslavement of planet earth,
reveals how we are being ruled,
and by who,
and most important…
what can be done about it.

And it is all based on actual planet earth facts.

And,
you will see the seeds for Monkeyland
during the course of that series.

Okley dokely,
time for me to get crackin’,
got lots of stuff to do,
including working out.

And,
you know,
so do you!

I’ll talk to you later…

have a great work out!

How the Martial Arts Became a Science!

Newsletter 830

Martial Arts More than a Gimmick

martial arts system

A complete Martial Arts System! ~ Click on the cover!

Happy Heat Wave!
Happy Work out!
The only way to beat the heat
is to work out,
get so hot
that reality is cool.
It’s true.

I remember when scientists
tested Koichi Tohei
and he sped up and slowed down his heart.
Just sat there and thought about it,
and the scientist couldn’t believe their instruments.

So why not convince yourself it’s cool?

Let’s talk about matrixing.

I often say I invented matrixing,
but the truth is
I stumbled across it.
Another way of saying it is
I made so many mistakes,
there was nothing left
but the right way.
True.

Initially,
I used a truth table
out of Boolean algebra.
Lot of fun.
Lot of work.
Made everything fit.
Analyzed motion
until there was logic.

But you won’t see all the hoops I jumped through
when you order a course.
The martial arts are separated in specific geometries.
So you just order a course,
and the data is perfectly laid out,
and you go through a few arts,
and you have it.
All the geometries.

I have provided a few records of what I did.
One record,
for instance,
is
‘Matrixing: The Master Text.’

http://monstermartialarts.com/martial-arts/2f-matrixing-the-master-text/

This shows a few of the matrixes I drew,
and you can see the exact progression of steps I took.

Still,
if you want the absolutely nut
that grew the mighty oak,
you have to read Neutronics.
Philosophy, you see.

And here is where it really all came from.

One day I was sitting in my back yard,
tapping a piece of rebar on the cement,
Ting, ting, ting.
And,
suddenly…
TONG
it was like a giant gong went off.
I could see all reality.
I understood reality,
and a simple phrase jumped into my head.

‘For something to be true,
the opposite must also be true.’

That was it.
From that simple realization
and verbalization,
I grew neutronics,
which manifested in Matrixing.
But you would have to read
some books on Neutronics
to understand that process.

Okay.
the reason I tell you all this
is that there’s a lot of newbies to the newsletter.
And I know I’ve sort of said it in a quick nutshell,
but they need to understand
that there is more to this stuff than a gimmick.

When somebody says,
‘Oh,
that Al Case,
he’s a quack…’

Ask if they’ve read the testimonials at
MonsterMartialArts.com

When somebody says it’s a trick,
‘you can’t learn the martial arts that fast,’
Ask if they’ve ever seen me take a guy to black belt.
I do it in three months,
and the thing was recorded on
The Three Month Black Belt Course

http://monstermartialarts.com/martial-arts/black-belt-course/

And so on.
Really,
only believe your own eyes and ears.
Make your own decision.
If a guy says I am junk,
and he has never done my courses,
you better think about whether you should listen to him.

I’ve got 50 years experience,
I’ve written dozens of books
and produced many video courses.

All the proof is here.
You just have to want the truth.

It’s Quick and Easy…if you are willing to learn.

Okey dokey,
enough for you newbies.
Hope I’ve enlightened,
and not frightened.

I’m going to write about
MONKEYLAND!
in the next newsletter or two.
That’s a whole mother trip.

You guys and gals…

have a great work out!

Puttin’ Down the Creeps with Martial Arts!

Good Afternoon!
Heck,
GREAT AFTERNOON!
And a workout is what makes it great.
A workout makes you stronger,
mentally sharper,
calms you down,
makes a better you.

Got an interesting email today.
Michael S shared a win.
Here go…

So, odd story tonight. Contains mildly explicit textual content, just to give you fair warning.
I was on the subway earlier tonight and there was a guy harassing a young woman. They were both standing by the door and he poured a beer out right next to her. She walked away and stood between me and him. Then he pulled out his penis and muttered but didn’t get any closer. I got the cops on the line.
Sure enough, she got out and he followed her. I followed him. At this point I suspect he realized what I was up to because the 911 phones are garbage and I was having to yell his description and location into mine in order to be heard.
He started walking in circles and generally trying to shake me but he didn’t want to get too far from the subway since he’d probably gotten off before his stop to do his creeper thing. At one point he went up to the station platform and walked back down with me at the stairs. After this I decided to call it a night.
The police contacted me about twenty minutes later to ask where he had been heading when I last saw him. I told them but the trail was cold.
Now I would like to give out some advice. If you are a creep, please don’t be. If you are a bystander, involve yourself. If you are a target, look for help. Put as much distance between yourself and the aggressor as you can. If you see a guy glaring daggers at him, get on the other side of that guy. Don’t be afraid to call the police. They take a long time to get there but calling in the first place can be enough to settle the situation. If I hadn’t called the cops, the guy might have tried to fight or intimidate me. Just being on the phone was enough to keep him from even wanting to be within a block of me.
If anyone is still reading this, I’d like to thank Jorge for teaching me a thing or two about keeping my wits about me on the subway.

Fantastic win.

You know,
getting involved doesn’t have to be bloody.
It can just be smart.

Weapon attacks are no big thang with the Blinding Steel art!

You’ve got to understand
that bad guys don’t want to be caught,
so the slightest show of attention does them in.
You don’t have to challenge them,
just pull out your wallet and
pretend you’re talking into it.
They’ll freak,
won’t even perceive what you are doing.

And the cops do appreciate it.
Crimes stopped is what they are about.
It’s no fun mopping up the mess afterwards,
much better to stop the creep.

And,
for everybody,
the common citizen is not very brave.
They don’t know how to fight,
when things go different they freak,
so it is up to you.
It is up to the guy who does know how to fight.
It is up to the martial artist who has trained.
And what better use for your training, eh?

All right,
thanks,
Michael,
and here’s a link…

This course has weapons,
because the thug on the street will probably have a weapon.
It has empty hands that lead to takedowns.
It has speed training drills,
and ALL sorts of stuff.

Just the thing for the guy who wants
a bit of street oriented martial arts.

The Eyes in the Martial Arts

Newsletter 828

Where Do You Look During Combat

Happy Tuesday!
It’s great for a work out!

martial arts system

A complete Martial Arts System! ~ Click on the cover!

Hey,
one of the biggest,
most frequent questions I get,
when I’m teaching,
is where do you look
when you are free styling.

OR,
and this is really bad,
I get kids who freestyle
while unconscious.

Would you like to fight while unconscious?

Let me explain.
If you were in the middle of a street
and a car came barreling towards you,
would you look at the car?
Or would you look at the driver?

Kids and beginners always say,
‘I’d look at the car.’
I make the noise of somebody being smunched,
run over by a car.
Crunched.

Here’s the thing,
the car has no mind.
It is a piece of metal and machinery.
The car has no direction,
except that which is fed into it by the driver.
So you look at the driver.
You look at the person behind the wheel,
you read his intentions.

Read his intentions.
A car has no intention.
Only a human being has intention.

So you must look at the driver of the car.

AND,
that means,
when you are fighting,
you must look at the eyes.

The eyes are the windows to a man’s soul.

Look at the eyes,
and you can see the intention.
You can see the thoughts.
You can see the intention.

Not at first.
At first you see eyes.
You see flesh and tissue.
But,
with practice,
with dedicated dedication,
you will,
at last,
see the thought behind the body.
The spirit behind the flesh.
The ‘I am’ directing the action.

I know,
I’ve heard all the theories,
even been told to do them,
and even believed them for a while.
Look at the chest.
Use peripheral vision.
See the whole body by unfocusing.
But you’re still looking at the vehicle,
and not seeing who’s driving.

Oh,
eventually,
even without eyes,
you’ll start to perceive
things happening,
but it will be slow and faulty.

Who do you think is looking through those eyes?

Here’s the funny thing,
I was teaching a kid the other day,
and I made him look at me,
really look at me,
the ‘I am,’
and not the body,
and he broke down.
Went into the giggling hysterics.
Couldn’t look at me.

When I was a child and in trouble,
parents lecturing me,
I’d look down,
and immediately got the:
‘Look at me when I’m talking to you!’
They didn’t want me going unconscious.
I had to stay there and take my punishment.
Funny thing,
after a little of that,
I didn’t want to get in trouble.
It was just too hard looking them in the eyes.

This video clip is how you use the blinding steel material…

So that’s the key,
it will help your martial arts tremendously,
it will help your matrixing fantastically.
Because,
here’s something simple,
if you can’t look at it,
you can’t fight it.
And that means you can’t fight.

Why?
Because if you’re not looking,
then you’re unconscious.

Okey dokey.
Thanks to all who have purchased
Tiger and Butterfly Martial Arts,
it’s on Amazon.

the system I do,
right after Tiger and Butterfly
is the Blinding Steel course.

In otherwords,
I teach the hard stuff with the Tiger/Butterfly,
then I do the weapons,
which is Monkey Boxing,
then I finally go through the Matrix Kung Fu.

Funny when you look at it that way,
goes to show how advanced some of those
four original matrixing courses are.

Knew Only Three Kata…

Which Three Martial Arts Forms Should You Study?

Again, thanks to all
who have purchased the
Tiger and Butterfly Martial Arts System.
It’s available on Amazon.

martial arts system

A complete Martial Arts System! ~ Click on the cover!

Now,
got an interesting email.
The question was,
If I could only study three forms,
which three forms would you recommend?

Quite interesting.
I mean,
I’m always telling everybody
study as much as you can,
there’s no end to knowledge,
learn as many arts as you can.

BUT…
if you could only study three forms…?

I recommended
Sanchin,
Seisan,
Sanseirui.

Those are out of the Pan Gai Noon course.

http://monstermartialarts.com/martial-arts/evolution-of-a-martial-art/

Why would I recommend those?
Because those three forms
focus on grounding,
and dedicated hand motion.
All three forms teach one how to move in any direction,
and yet keep your ground,
and use that ground in your hand techniques.
There is a tremendous swirl of energy
up the body in those three forms.
And,
the energy is easily manifest in the hands,
and the hands,
almost perfectly fit the ‘slap-grab’ concepts
which are outlined in Binary Matrixing.

This is not to say the forms of classical Karate aren’t good,
they are,
but they are ten,
and the request was for three.

And,
this doesn’t mean Shaolin isn’t good,
but Shaolin spreads out over a number of concepts.

And,
why not Matrixing?
There are three forms in Matrixing?
Because the purpose of matrixing
is to put logic in the martial arts.
What good is all that knowledge
if you can’t apply it to a variety of martial arts,
to more than three forms?

So I was sort of caught,
hoist with my own petard,
I believe it is called.
I wanted to say matrixing more than anything,
but if you only had three forms,
then those are the three.
They give more internal energy,
contain more face to face,
hand to hand combat.

And,
I can’t resist,
I would recommend the iron horse
(kima shodan/tekki 1)
as a fourth form.
Just because it causes
oodles and oodles of pure energy.

Anyway,
that all said,
the reason the question was so good,
so appropriate,
was because when I write a book
I always think it is the best.
You have to, or why write?
So I think a book is the best,
but it may or may not be,
I have to wait to see what people say.

And the idea that one could study only three forms,
aligned with my purpose
in the Tiger/Butterfly book.
My purpose,
as always,
is to put together
a better martial arts system.
Each time I sit down to write,
I am thinking,
how can I make this better,
how can I formulate what I’ve done,
into better and better art.

How can I give people the purest information
to cause them the quickest progress,
and the most profound experience
in the martial arts.

So if the question had been,
what seven forms,
then I would have rejoiced mightily.

But…
three forms.
Zowie.
What a question.
You guys feel free to consider your choices.

Okay,
here’s some stuff about martial arts drills.

When somebody is training a person,
maybe to close distance,
they might set them up a few feet from a bag/wall/whatever,
and have them practice shuffling forward.

You shuffle and shuffle,
people get tired
and go do some boxing.

Hey,
it’s true.
People don’t understand the classical,
get tired of the grind,
they want to fight,
so they go somewhere where people do more fighting
and less drilling.

But the drilling is crucial.
The martial arts are like a wall,
the bottom bricks need to be firmly in place
before a student can build the wall higher.
So you have to practice these basic drills,
and build the basic building blocks.

So,
you are drilling,
practicing closing with the wall,
trying to get the time from launch to impact
to disappear.
And you are making a crucial error.

There are two directions to a line,
and no matter which direction you are going,
both directions are important.

Watch a person start to walk from a standing still position.
chances are
they lean backward
so they can push a foot out.
It’s true,
they unbalance themselves,
so they can fall forward.
They go in two directions to go in one.
A most inefficient method for starting the motion of walking.
But,
if you watch the martial arts,
you will see the most amazing examples
of similar inefficiency.
People just don’t know how to get started.

The correct method is to bend the legs slightly,
and cause yourself to lean forward,
into the motion,
by thinking about it.

And,
if you are going to close distance
in the martial arts,
you need to set your stance
so the ‘wave’ of your legs
can be properly unleashed,
and every part of the body
can contribute to the forward motion.

CBM,
Coordinated Body Motion,
put to work in the simple act of walking.

Now,
if you are not guilty of unbalancing yourself to walk,
if you are already engaged in CBMing to walk,
then let me give you a further example.

Do both the hard and the soft!

I had a group of students attempt to close distance.
They would shuffle and punch,
and they were abysmally slow.
And they didn’t even like it.

So after a few minutes of springing forward,
I had them play a game.
I had them move forward,
extend a forearm for the grabbing,
and spring back when their opponent grabbed.

This put a whole new excitement into the drilling.
This made the student think backwards,
even as he was going forwards.

Then I had them do the original exercise,
and they were shocked
at how they had improved at closing distance.

Try it for yourself.
Drill one way,
then set up the opposite direction,
then go back to the original direction,
it won’t be long before you are faster.

And,
the drill can be used quite gloriously
when it comes to freestyle.
You can set up different targets,
move them into range,
retreat with verve,
and,
here’s a kicker,
set up a counter to attack.
And you will be most excellent at the counter,
because you are adept at moving in both directions.
You haven’t gotten bored with going only in one direction,
which breaks the concept of yin and yang,
of opposites in the universe,
and have become adept at the whole motion.

This drilling,
incidentally,
is the product of neutronics.

Matrixing provides logic.
Gives understanding to the whole picture.
But who is doing the martial art?
You.
That is what neutronics is about.
And in this case,
you are taking advantage of the two directions of a line,
and training in both directions,
to fully understand one direction.

Most people only train in one direction.

Here’s a neutronic datum for you:

The purpose of the martial arts
is to deliver a force or flow
while avoiding a force or flow.

How are you going to accomplish that purpose
if you don’t understand the martial arts in,
at least,
two directions?
How are you going to master the hard,
if you don’t understand the context of soft
from which it comes?
And how are you going to master the soft,
if you don’t understand the contact of hard
from which it comes?

So,
I say it again,
if you know Karate,
or TKD or Kenpo,
or some other hard art,
then you need to learn Aikido,
or TCC,
or some other soft art.
Only if you understand two directions,
will you master one.

Karate Kung Fu System in New Book

Tiger and Butterfly Martial Arts Book

The new Martial Arts book is called
‘Tiger and Butterfly,’
and it’s pretty darned good.

new martial arts book

click on the cover!

If you look at the title,
and you have done any matrixing,
then you can see that I have used
portions of the Matrix Karate course,
and portions of the Shaolin Butterfly.

This was interesting,
because I didn’t want to fall into the trap
of having systems disagree.
I wanted the concepts to build on each other,
not work against each other.

In a way,
there is a certain similarity
between Tiger and Butterfly
and the MCMAP books I wrote.

The similarity is in the arrangement of material.
This had to be,
because when you make a system,
certain things have to be done,
certain rules have to be followed,
certain principles have to be included,
and all the way up the belt levels.

One of the reasons I wrote this book
is because I visited a few schools,
and I saw how the modern schools
have let forms and techniques fall by the way.
They work on freestyle,
on fighting.
The students get better,
but they can’t do certain things.
For instance,
they don’t understand how to take a punch.
And,
they have limited knowledge
concerning what happens
when you complete the circle (cycle) of a technique.

The system has eight belts,
white
yellow
orange
purple
blue
green
brown
black

There are no degrees.
Each belt is designed to be done
in about three months.
Brown belt might take longer,
but the material on the brown level
is pretty advanced.

When done,
the student will have those liquid kicks,
those floating kicks that look so light,
but knock down a elephant.
They should be able to take any kind of a punch.
They will be able to freestyle with authority,
and make a grab art out of any technique.
They will have knowledge.
Real knowledge.
Not just the fast reflexes of freestyle,
but a complete body knowledge,
how the body is constructed,
how to tweak it for more energy,
how to construct it for total effectiveness.

I want you to think about something.
When you study matrixing,
there are several courses,
and I recommend that you do them all,
that you get the complete picture,
from striking to locking
to guiding to manipulating
to predicting to taking down…
and more.

But,
I can’t reach everybody,
and some people don’t understand
just how big the martial arts are,
and that you have to understand them as a science.
They are locked in ‘hit and punch,’
‘ground and pound,’
and don’t see or understand the bigger picture.

This book is for those people.
Hopefully it will get them excited for the big picture.
But even if it doesn’t,
it will afford a massive education,
and do a lot towards bringing these people
who are studying arts that have degraded over time
into the real art.
They will appreciate it as science.

And,
even if they don’t,
if they do the book,
not just read it and say…
‘oh, I knew that,’
or…
‘we have that in our system,’
but actually do the book,
all the drills and techniques,
all the forms and fighting drills,
then they will be doing the true art.
Whether they were stupid and didn’t even understand
what I am talking about,
if they do the drills and exercises,
they will end up doing the true art.

For instance,
at a certain point,
a certain belt,
I teach a type of kick.
It’s a floating kick,
then you turn the hips over and slam the energy
down into the ground
as you strike.
The point is…
you can’t do that kick
unless you use the tan tien
in a certain way.
You simply can’t.
So they will practice it,
get it,
and stumble over the concept,
whether they understand what is happening or not,
and they will end up with classical power
in a certain mode.
And the whole system is constructed
so that one mode leads to the next.

spoken enough.

Evolving a Thousand Years Through the Martial Arts…

Newsletter 824

The Martial Arts, and Evolution…

Speaking of matrixing, the martial arts, and evolution…
I came across an interesting thought
the other day
I was reading some old yogic scrolls,
and the claim was made
that an hour of yoga
caused a thousand years of evolution
in the person doing the yoga.

Interesting claim.

The most important Martial Arts book ever written.

The most important Martial Arts book ever written.

And,
it’s not right,
though it does act like it is right.

After all,
when you evolve,
you are not growing,
you are reclaiming yourself.
So it’s true,
but…not really.
Which brings us to Matrixing.

When you study a martial art
that has been matrixed,
the art is logical,
and therefore the you accept it.
you like things to make sense,
to be logical.

when you matrix a martial art
you accept this logical method
of looking at and handling the world
at a much faster rate.

The difference between studying a martial art,
and matrixing it
(making it logical through your own efforts)
is the difference between driving a car
and building a car.
The fellow who builds the car
will understand that car far better
than the fellow who simply drives it.

Mind you,
in the end,
you get to where you are going.
But the fellow who makes his own vehicle
will,
in the end,
get there faster.

Now,
that said,
there are several things that will happen,
as you matrix,
that will occur.
I don’t think I have ever laid out these results,
described this path,
so here goes…

First,
you will tend to look at the world in a logical manner.
You will become better at solving problems.
You will become a better worker and boss.
You will become an artist.

how to study martial art

Everybody sort of knows this,
most martial artists experience this,
so let me take you where most people don’t know.

Second,
you must put aside emotion.
This is an interesting thing.
People will put emotion on you,
and you will feel the need to respond with emotion.
But the Neutronic definition of emotion:

emotion is motion inside the head.

Thus,
you must still the emotion,
stop the motion inside your head,
and not respond with emotion,

BTW,
there is good emotion,
love, happiness, etc.
And there is bad emotion,
hate, fear, sadness, etc.

So the specific emotion you must not respond to
is the bad emotion.
Good emotion okay.
Bad emotion you must uncreate from even beginning.

Think about it,
emotion is merely the automatic response
of one who is overwhelmed.
You must not become overwhelmed,
you must view the world in logical terms,
so that nothing can surprise you,
nothing can overwhelm you.

Third,
you must defeat the distraction of memories.
You must not respond because any conditioning
you may have received.
This includes any familial conditioning,
any educational conditioning,
any conditioning of any kind.
Instead,
you must create yourself in the moment.

For instance,
your father laughed at certain types of jokes before you,
do you laugh at the same kind of jokes?
Don’t you realize that he laughed at jokes in his moment?
And that you have an entirely different moment?
That will change the type of jokes you might laugh at.

For instance,
school might train you to think like a physicist,
and you will analyze the world as a physicist,
when you should analyze it as a unique being,
not trapped by an education.

(Mind, I am not saying you can’t be a physicist
and be in the moment, too)

For instance,
do you view the world through a religious viewpoint?
It would be much better
to study all religions,
to understand all religions,
than to choose one religion over all others.

Don’t become the only thing in the universe
willing to kill over a belief system.

This is simple after you have evolved a few hours…

Fourth,
you must separate yourself from other people,
without losing your humanity.
Simply,
you must be immune to the attitudes
of your fellow man,
but you must love your fellow man
all the same.
This one is incredibly tough.
No matter how far you evolve,
there will always be some idiot
telling you what to do,
thinking he is smarter than you,
and so on.
Can you accept and even use this fellow?
And put aside your certainty
that he is an idiot?
Interesting problem, eh?

Fifth,
and this one is a toughie,
don’t view the world as a fantasy.
This is probably the toughest,
for you become enlightened through the things
I have previously mentioned,
then you might think that,
because you are so smart,
the world should be as you say.

For instance,
you make a battery powered car,
to save the world from pollutants,
and don’t ever consider
that someday the battery will have to be disposed of,
and that the battery might be worse
than all the oil pollutants of a gas car.

Oddly,
this is one of the most dangerous things
you will ever to confront
on your way to self-sufficiency
as a spiritual being…
on your way to your ultimate evolution…
on the way to the ultimate truth of yourself.

Though people haven’t discovered
the earlier truths,
they don’t know how to look at the world logically,
or control their emotion,
or control their responses to people,
they will still try to rule the world through their fantasy.

Have you ever met a fellow without an opinion?
And yet I am asking you to be one.
Toughest problem you will ever encounter.

Anyway,
this is the truth of matrixing
and where it leads to.

First,
you learn to look at the world logically
through the matrixing method.
You put aside the distraction of memories,
then you put aside emotion,
other people’s thoughts,
and even fantasy.

Then you find the truth of yourself,
and you start manipulating the universe
the way it should be manipulated.

The truly odd thing is that this path
often starts with a simple motivation:
the desire to defend yourself.
The wish to become physically safe
through simple exercises and drills.

Where this path leads,
though,
is sublime.

Now,
the one caution:
People think they can do this through any martial art.
Yet nobody has ever succeeded.

Indeed,
the people who think they have
are merely manifesting their fantasy of the world.
They are still mired in the muck,
and don’t understand that they have no logic.
They have only the fantasy of logic.
They have only an opinion and no facts.

So it has to be a matrixed martial art.
It can’t be a Chinese fire drill of a martial art,
it has to be a logical (matrixed) martial art.
Then it will work,
and then you can experience something like…
a thousand years of evolution
through a simple hour of exercise.

Okay,
Matrix Karate starts the matrixing process.
Study the courses as you need to,
until logic outweighs fantasy in your mind.
Then you will be off and running.

But whatever you do…
don’t settle for an opinion.

Teaching Martial Arts to Children

Newsletter 823 ~ Subscribe now!

Here’s How You Teach Martial Arts to Youngsters

‘Karate is the best thing you can do for your child.’
Who said the above quote?
The answer is at the bottom of this newsletter.

We didn’t have much of a kids class
back when I was learning at the Kang Duk Won.
There weren’t many schools back then,
and there was no shortage of adult students.
Now,
of course,
schools can only survive if they have children’s classes.
But how the heck do you teach a child?
Children have short attention spans,
they tend to whine,
and they don’t remember everything you say!

Which brings us to the solution.

First off,
don’t try to teach classical forms,
just keep working on the basics.
Teach them basic kicking,
basic rolling,
and do lots of freestyle ‘games.’

Here’s a couple of things to illustrate what I mean.

I went into a school, a pretty good school,
and noticed a healthy sized kid’s class.
Interestingly,
there was a riot of color when it came to belts.
white, yellow, orange, purple, blue, green, red.
All with stripes of…
yellow, orange, purple, blue, green, red.

This school had an amazing amount of belts,
and I asked the instructor about it.
He equivocated,
and when I watched a class,
I suddenly realized what he was doing.

He was teaching nothing but basics.
But there was a method here.

Kids can’t remember things,
so he just kept emphasizing basics,
and waiting for an individual child
to reach the point where he could accept instruction.
Until that point was reached,
it was calisthenics,
basics,
and games.

Interestingly enough,
though there wasn’t an emphasis
on teaching classical forms and techniques,
children who were wild and wooly
began to calm down.

The exercise tired them out,
and made them amenable to reason.
The discipline of just doing the basics,
made them more able to focus.

And when were they ready?
When they stopped trying to interrupt the class,
when they began to focus on what they were doing,
when they became aware
that there was more than a game going on.

Here’s something to think about:
I have seen young children
who were mature beyond their years.
I have known adults
who were nothing but children.

The key word is responsibility.

So you teach things like
kicks and shoulder rolls,
basic one step sparring games,
breakfalls and punches,
and you back everything up with
don’t let them rest.

Don’t make them cry,
don’t drive them like an adult,
make everything fun and laughs,
but don’t let up.

It is an interesting line you walk with this method.

When a child starts to look at you,
to understand what you are saying,
and especially when he is willing to help younger students,
then he is ready for instruction.

It might take a month,
it might take years,
but you just have to watch and wait.

You have to keep them there with games and fun,
until they can string a half dozen moves together,
and remember them,
until the light of awareness enters their eyes.

Here’s what you are actually fighting.

Parents that don’t feed their children properly,
that send them off to school
with cereal,
if that.

Electronic games that consume children,
and drive them to frenetic activity.
Peers that squash children.
Drugs that are handed out freely
by adults who don’t understand
what the real solution is.

Karate,
or any martial art,
can be part of the solution.
In many cases,
it is the only solution that is needed.

We live in a weird society,
a place where values have been forgotten,
where parents have never been parented themselves,
and simply don’t have a clue,
where teachers are guided by psychological interests,
and the simple fact of raising a child
has been forgotten and neglected.

As a martial arts instructor,
you may be the first sane person a child has ever seen.
You might be the only sane person a child has ever seen.
Yet your small influence,
being based in common sense and good values,
may be the difference.
